An evening lamp among flowers , you are ,
Like the Milky Way flowing coldly between the blooms .
You draw the curtains , like a comedian ‘ s swirling skirt ,
Letting color spread through your romantic , silent garden .
You lie on the shallow shore of wild daisy ,
Turning upon rose petals of snow – white skin .
You rock a paper boat pieced together with words ,
Sailing across the sea of green leaves .
Then , you begin to call out ,
In defiance of timidity , shaking your uneasy sails .
Then I will gently tap your shoulder , my fairy ,
And let you rest , an evening lamp among flowers .
